"Be sure to sample the cracklin' cornbread, the blackberry cobbler, and the white beans with ham that taste just as good as any grandmother's." Julianna Brown, Southern Living Magazine - Quoted from Southern Living Magazine - the ultimate resource for life in the South

One of the most trusted names in travel today:
"While you are in Jackson, tour the train museum and sip a root beer at Casey Jones Village, (tel. 1-800-748-9588), an old-time country store and soda fountain in Jackson named for the legendary turn-of-the-century railroad conductor who lost his life rescuing others in a train wreck. Let the kids blow off some steam (so to speak) by climbing aboard a real turn-of-the-century locomotive."

"Our old time traditional music is an inheritance that has been passed along to us for preservation. I can think of no other place than the Old Country Store and Casey Jones Village for our music to call home. Thank you so much." ~John Few''
Tennessee Home & Farm Magazine: We were thrilled to be a part of a wonderful article on Jackson in the gorgeous 2008 Fall issue of Tennessee Farm Bureau's magazine. It is published for the more than 600,000 members of the Farm Bureau in the state. Be sure to read the virtual magazine. The article is in the "Travel" section and entitled "I'm Goin to Jackson".
"The food was very delicious & the atmosphere is great. Remind us of our Grandmother's Southern cooking. You need to keep Wanda as a waitress because she is an asset to your restaurant. Her service was wonderful going beyond her duties as a waitress to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. We will be back the next time we visit Jackson!"
"This was a fabulous stop! Everyone loved the food. Several commented that it was the best food so far on the trip." - Nanticoke Senior Center Tour Seaford, DE

"I have the fondest memories of the Old Country Store from childhood ..there are too many to number. We were suddenly living in another time from the moment we entered the front door. It was truly a magical place. I am now 50 and my brother is not far behind. I am so happy to know the tradition keeps going for all the other families who need to connect to their Southern roots. It's a comforting feeling to know you all are still there." ~Kim from Illinois
"We were in here last night for supper. It was excellent then and excellent this morning. My husband and I are very impressed with the food, the courtesy and overall appearance of everything! Also, thank you for saving our table. :)"

"My husband and I visited the Village on a tour in November. It was like going back in time. I expected to meet up with someone from "Little House on the Prairie" or "The Waltons"...both wonderful shows. It was fantastic. We have never been anywhere quite like it. I was so engrossed in looking around at all the things I forgot to pick up my fudge which I was upset about as I have heard it delicious. We did buy the cookbook. I bought some Christmas decorations and they are a fantastic memory of our trip. Thanks once again." ~Mandy and Carl from Shrewsbury, England United Kingdom.
