The Farm at Casey Jones Village is a "hands on" authentic Southern food experience. It features a very large vegatable garden and will feature a Saturday morning farmers market, as well as a century old barn and cotton gin building.
The Farmers Market at Casey Jones Village will allow us to take advantage of the immense popularity of local farmers markets. We have the blessing of our city-operated farmers market, who has offered to provide us with a list of farmers. We hope to host 10 to 15 farmers on the south side of Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store, where we will host a market every Saturday morning from early May to late October each year. The Old Country Store supplements our daily vegetables from these farmers to our restaurant whenever possible. We feel this will futher our commitment to teaching the farm to table principles to our Guests.
The Farm at Casey Jones Village features the first American Heart Association Teaching Garden in West Tennessee. We are also pleased to partner with the American Heart Association. Teaching and educating West Tennesseans from all demographics about sustainable living through agriculture.
The Barn and Cotton Gin
Both the barn and cotton gin will serve as special events venues to everything from education field trips, family reunions, company picnics, large receptions, seated dinners and much more. Other important features include two farm tenant house, a log cabin, chicken coops, and eventually a green house, small grain bins, and a composting area.
"In season, it goes straight from the Farm to the Old Country Store Buffet! Farm fresh doesn't get any more local than this."
